Rush Workshop Testimonials - September 2016
"Hi Felicity, absolutely brilliant, another great weekend, just not long enough, absolute heaven, to be able to immerse myself in something without any interruptions, sheer bliss. Not only did I feel as though I made some progress with the weaving, it enforced my determination to continue at home, already got it organised in barn. But it was also great therapy, with inspiring surroundings and an opportunity to meet an interesting group of people, I left feeling so uplifted and calm... Thanks Felicity for making all this possible. As I said, if only I lived closer I would offer my services for mundane general duties, or even a week internship! Thanks again, now considering November date. Very best wishes, Suzanne." - From Norfolk
"Hello Felicity, a slightly belated thank-you for a wonderful workshop last weekend - once again I'm amazed at your patience and the generosity with which you share your expertise (I'm sure a sense of humour helps too!). Nice people, great food, lovely rushes - what more could anyone ask for? - oh, and a delightful little dog too!
Attached are photos of my finished tray/basket, with which I'm very pleased (one of them includes my cat Smudge having a good sniff at this unfamiliar object). I was particularly encouraged when I compared my table mat from this workshop with those I'd made on previous occasions - it was definitely much neater and with a more consistent tension. So I feel I am improving!
Thanks again, and all good wishes, Clare" - From Bristol (Returning students)
Some lovely letters and emails I recieved from students who came to my March workshop last month.
It was lovely to spend the weekend before last with you and everyone involved in making it such an enjoyable experience.
I learnt so much from your excellent tuition and my basket is on the windowsill for regular sightings, with the rush flowers in an old glass bottle. It was great to learn too from what everyone else was making, and to be in such good company. Thank you too for catering for us so well - a real treat! I enjoye seeing all the lovely things you make and being in such a creative environment. Thankyou so much. With best wishes to you, your mum, Ivor and your friend Lynn who helped with the catering, and a pat to Molly!
Just a quick note to say thank you so much for a fantastic workshop. It
was great working with a new material, and I was interested to see how
the rush worked, it is a wonderful thing! Andrew and I really enjoyed
the two days, your workshop is really comfortable to work in, and the
lovely lunches with cider were amazing! Many thanks to all who catered,
it was an added bonus to be so well fed and kept going with tea, coffee,
and cake too.
It was great to meet you, and a real privilege to see your work! I
certainly won't forget it, you're a super teacher and your work is
Well, I hope you had a good Easter weekend, Andrew is following you on
Instagram, and I may well join too. We haven't yet started on our floor
mat, we got home and found we had totally overestimated the space in the
bathroom, so we are now going for a hanging for the wall over the
stairs! I am now thinking that an half-oval mat would be good for the
bathroom, so I'll be trying that out and will let you know what happens.
Many many thanks, Felicity, for such an inspiring weekend! Jane"
Our next workshop is in September, there are currently two places left. Please see the workshop page for more details and booking forms!

Contact me if you would like to order.
March Workshop 2016
My weekend workshop last weekend 19th and 20th was a great success. There were 8 students here from all over the country. Several people made some plaiting on the Saturday so we were able to sew it on Sunday as it had time to dry over night.
Viviana started making her beach bag from her plait. She is moving to LA and will definitely be using it on the beach.
Richard and Jane are determined to continue their plaiting at home and want to make a runner for their bathroom- brilliant work.
Several bread baskets, sets of table mats, garlic baskets and bags were finished by the students. Lots of concentration and lots of laughs throughout the weekend.
My next course in 3rd and 4th September 2016. At the moment there are 2 places left.
Please see our workshop page for more details and booking forms.

May 2015 workshop testimonials
"Dear Felicity & fellow rush weavers. Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the weekend in my attempts in rush weaving; I enjoyed every minute & was very grateful for your patience with me & my basket Felicity! The food at Pasquale's was simply delicious & very well found, your energetic teaching and wonderful enthusiasm for working with rush and disseminating the information in your teaching was just great Felicity. Very good to meet you all & hope that you came safely home. With every good wish, Nicky"
"I also had a fabulous time and am very pleased with my efforts! Thank you. Fenella"
"I too really enjoyed the weekend it was fun meeting you all. I feel confident and inspired with Felicity's teaching to complete the rush mat I started at the weekend. Happy rushing. Alice"
May Workshop 2015
Last weekend I ran a workshop here with seven students from all over the country and one gentleman came over from New York. They made a fantastic variety of pieces and we all had a great time.
Nicky threading her stakes away on her twill weave rectangular basket.
Steven, from New York made a tiny, tiny little basket for his garlic. Quite sweet.
Julian working on his third piece of the weekend. A windmill knot cushion.
Agatha sewing her five-end plait into a small bathmat.
Nicky's completed basket with her own spun wool.
GROW London 2015

Chelsea Flower Show Hat
I was asked to make a hat to be part of Jo Thompsons garden display at the Chelsea Flower Show. Very fine weave with lots of rush flowers woven in to look almost vine-like.
