Trerice Manor

Flooring, Sewing

On Monday 16th we drove  for 8 hours to Trerice Manor, near Newquay. It was worth it! A beautiful Elizabethan house built by the Arundels. Our matting fitted extremely well into the upstairs room. There is nothing else in the room which allows one to fully appreciate the fantastic moulded ceiling. The sun floods in as they have taken the UV protection from the window panes. Unusual for  a NT property.

"Hi Felicity, Just want to thank you for the rush matting, absolutely beautiful, many many thanks, Barbara." - House Steward, Trecrice Manor

Workshop Chair Seating

Furniture, Surprises

Ruth, one of my students at my most recent workshop, starting re-rushing her seat and successfully finished it at home. Molly found the old seat and took a liking to it, then Ruth's striped assistant found the new one.

Testimonials

Baskets, Surprises

Some lovely testimonials from our clients..

"Dear Felicity, just to let you know that the log basket arrived safely today and what a thing of beauty it is.

Kind regards, Susan"

"Felicity, Thank you for the beautiful basket for Tigger.  You made it just right and I appreciate the care and love you put into it, and also your mother who made the elegant lining.

With kind regards, Anna"

"Dear Felicity, I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the wonderful three days at West Dean. Although, as you know I found it very tiring, I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. You were so kind and patient with me which made the difference between my thinking "what am I doing here" to instead thinking "this is great!" Most of my friends have now seen my pieces and are very impressed. They all want "The Hat"(They're not getting it!!!)

Jenny"

Hardwick Hall

Bags

The long gallery at Hardwick Hall required some specialised splicing work by the central door. Three of us spent three days at the National Trust house weaving 47 lengths of new matting into the old floor mat. It’s an area of the long gallery that has a lot of pressure from the visitors feet.

Rush coffin

Plaiting

A friend asked me to make a coffin for his wife. It was a difficult thing to make for lots of reasons, but we were very pleased with the final result.
